Geoff Arsenault at Wilser’s Room

Geoff Arsenault – Hired Hand Fredericton Album Release Show
Original swamp of Americana, Blues & New Orleans groovalations

Join us for a special night of rootsy magic as acclaimed drummer and singer-songwriter Geoff Arsenault brings his unmistakable sound to Fredericton for the local release of his brand-new record, Hired Hand.

A true road-tested artist, Geoff has toured extensively across North America, Europe, and the UK, sharing stages and studios with an incredible roster of musicians including Ray Bonneville, Matt Andersen, Rita MacNeil, Amy Helm, Alejandro Escovedo, Mary Gauthier, Colin Linden, Michael Kaeshammer, Carlos del Junco, and many more.

Known for his deep-pocket grooves and soulful songwriting, Geoff’s music lives somewhere between swampy Americana, Tex-Mex roots, and New Orleans blues — often drawing comparisons to Tony Joe White and J.J. Cale. His previous releases, Voodoo Baby Rattle and This Ain’t No Fiction, established his signature style, while Hired Hand takes things even further, featuring contributions from Glenn Patscha, Colin Linden, Joey Landreth, Amy Helm, and more.

Expect an afternoon of gritty grooves, heartfelt stories, and richly layered songs — a celebration of community, connection, and great live music.

Come help us welcome Geoff back to Fredericton and be part of this special album release event.

Theresa Malenfant & The Instigators at Dolan’s Pub (MRTI Blues Series)

Theresa Malenfant grew up surrounded by music in
Dieppe, New Brunswick. From a young age, she
studied the blues, making her singing debut at the age
of 14. While still under age, Theresa snuck into a local
bar and asked to sing with the great Dutch Mason,
bringing the house down and winning an audience of
her own. After winning the East Coast Music Award for
Best Female Artist in 1995, Theresa spent years living
and touring in Europe before returning home to
Canada. In 2015 Theresa won the Blues With a Feeling
(Lifetime Achievement) at the 19th annual Maple Blues
Awards.

2019 saw Theresa and her duo partner guitarist Scott
Medford take home second place in the Solo/Duo
category at the International Blues Competition in
Memphis Tenn. After 40 years of performing and
several critically acclaimed albums under her belt,
Theresa is a vocal powerhouse backed by The
Instigators with Scott Medford (guitar), Mike Hanlon
(bass) and Terry Patterson (drums)

JP LEBLANC at Dolan’s Pub

Coming in strong from Bathurst NB, we are proud to announce that JP Leblanc has come on board to be part of MRTI’s Winter Blues Series. JP and his band play Dolan’s Pub February 19th, then its on to Saint John’s Water Street Dinner Theatre on the 20th.

JP is coming off of an exciting 2025. Last year he released his 7th full length release, All In My Blood, which was produced by Grammy winning producer, Colin Linden. Maneuvering between Nashville, Louisiana, Toronto, JP is back, and armed with his most realized set of songs to date.

‘When I first heard JP’s demos, I thought there was an honesty I was drawn to,’ says Linden. ‘I also heard a very unique take on his influences and culture that was very compelling.’

It is also worth mentioning that JP also represented Atlantic Canada in the 2024 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, which put him on stages alongside some of the top talents of the genre.

Being a blues artist with strong ties to his Acadian heritage gives JP a unique voice and his ability to ‘find the sweet notes’ as Linden so eloquently puts it, will make for a night of truly electrifying, rock solid blues.
