Legendary Maritime musician Matt Minglewood will be making a mid-winter return to Fredericton with a performance guaranteed to chase away the January blues. The celebration will be extra special, as the evening also marks Matt’s 79th birthday.

On Saturday, January 31, 2026, fans are invited to the Delta Fredericton for an unforgettable night of music, memories, and celebration of a storied career that spans more than half a century.

The evening begins with a solo set from Sam Moon—Matt’s longtime friend and former musical partner—setting the stage for a full-band performance from Minglewood that promises to bring audiences to their feet. Concert-only and dinner-and-show tickets will be available.

Matt Minglewood is a pioneering force in Canadian music whose songs tell stories of Maritime life and the hardworking people who call it home. His accolades include multiple East Coast Music Awards, Canadian Country Music Awards, and a JUNO Award. In 2013, he was honoured with the “Blues With A Feeling” Lifetime Achievement Award at the Maple Blues Awards. A proud Canadian, he also toured overseas in the early 2000s to perform for Canadian troops serving in the Middle East.

To put it simply—Matt Minglewood was “East Coast” before East Coast was cool. This Fredericton performance offers the perfect chance to celebrate his remarkable career, his birthday, and his unmatched contribution to Canadian music.
