A brand-new, free family festival is coming to downtown Fredericton this summer. Kidfest, co-presented by the City of Fredericton and the MRTI Agency, will take place August 29–30, and will transform Officers’ Square into a hands-on hub of entertainment, creativity, and fun for children and families.
This end of summer celebration will feature live performances, interactive activities, creative workshops, games, and engaging experiences tailored to children of all ages. From music and stage shows to hands-on art, movement, and family activities, Kidfest aims to create lasting memories while showcasing downtown Fredericton as a premier destination for community events.
Officers’ Square will serve as the primary outdoor festival site, with collaborators – such as The Delta Fredericton (host hotel), Charlotte Street Arts Centre and many more – hosting complementary indoor programming and activities, allowing families to comfortably enjoy the event regardless of weather.
Kidfest at the Library: an Outer Space Adventure!
Drop by the Fredericton Public Library on August 29th from 11 AM – 3 PM for an experience that’s truly out of this world! Explore a fun, interactive play space that is perfect for young astronauts-in-training. Climb aboard a spaceship, create stellar crafts, and enjoy a cool treat to help everyone beat the heat!
Throughout Kidfest, the library is open as a welcoming, comfortable space for families to cool off and recharge while enjoying all the festival has to offer. No registration required!
Kidfest at the Fredericton Regional Museum!
The Fredericton Region Museum is excited to participate in Kidfest this summer! To celebrate, we are offering free admission for children under 18 all weekend long.
In addition, join us for guided tours at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, and at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. It’s a great opportunity for the whole family to explore the rich history of New Brunswick together.
In addition, don’t miss our family-friendly craft activities on the museum balcony. These hands-on projects are inspired by our collections and the history of Fredericton – designed to be engaging and enjoyable for visitors of all ages!
