SUMMARY:The Hypochondriacs LIVE Album Recording (Night 1)
DESCRIPTION:Fredericton’s favourite live band\, The Hypochondriacs\, have set aside two nights in January for a live recording and they are inviting friends and fans to be a part of it.\n\nJanuary 11 and 12\, 2024\, ‘The Hypos’ will set up in the Charlotte Street Arts Centre to do what they do best: perform for packed and appreciative rooms. However\, making this cabaret-style event unique will be the added excitement of being part of a live recording.\n“It’s about evolution. These songs have evolved. The band has evolved. Things are a lot different now\, from when we started. We want to document that\,” explained band leader Josh Bravener. “I mean\, first off\, we’re not even a country band anymore.”\nSince forming in 2015\, The Hypochondriacs have released two albums of material ranging from country\, 50s doo-wop\, soul\, Americana\, and alternative music\, and their travels have landed them on festival stages throughout North America\, including SXSW (Austin)\, Breakout West (Calgary)\, and of course appearances at The Harvest Music Festival in their beloved hometown of Fredericton. While both records have been met with critical applause\, live shows are a true thrill ride\, converting many fans.\nThe live album is an offering to a fevered fanbase\, waiting patiently for an anticipated third album. It is an attempt to capture the magic of these six tremendously accomplished musicians working together for a greater good\, transforming fan favourites\, and leaving it all on the stage.\n“We simply want to capture the strength and energy of our live performances. The band has a lot to do with this. We want to highlight each of their unique influences\,” added Bravener.\nTickets are limited and are predicted to sell quickly. They are $20 advance\, $25 at the door. VIP bundles are also available for $50 to include show ticket\, VIP seating with table service\, a Hypochondriacs T-shirt\, invite to the Friday night after party and the digital download when available.

SUMMARY:Les Chanterelles & The Hello Crows: An MRTI Agency Showcase at Shivering Songs 2024
DESCRIPTION:Doors 6PM / Show 7PM\nAll Ages\n \nHarmony is everything to Les Chanterelles\, and that extends far beyond the tightly woven vocals that have become synonymous with this trio. In their music\, as well as in their busy lives of juggling careers and motherhood\, alongside the creative impulses of being part of a vocal group\, harmony is essential. Together\, Justine Everett\, Juanita Bourque and Sylvia Reentovich hold the focus as they seamlessly weave three part harmonies into every song they sing. From their growing list of originals\, that speak through the lens of life as a woman in today’s world\, to thoughtful cover material plucked from heritage artists who have shaped their sound through the forge of influence\, Les Chanterelles find a way to apply their own style and charm to the music they perform. \nDuring their brief history\, Les Chanterelles have already performed a highly anticipated Harvest Music debut in 2021. Earlier that same year they were also featured on CBC’s East Coast Hour\, during their Story and The Song series\, where they contributed an original composition. In May 2022 they released their debut EP to a positive reception. \nAt the end of the day\, Les Chanterelles goals and ambitions are honestly humble. They want to continue as writers–delivering songs of connection. They know that as they travel to share their stories through song\, they will no doubt meet great people about whom they’ll write more songs. \nThe Hello Crows\nLessons from the past\, anthems for the present\, and hope in the future where truth is realized— that clear-sightedness combined with cautious optimism says a lot about what The Hello Crows are hoping to accomplish. They are not only a group of highly talented Wabanaki songwriters and storytellers\, but together they stand as a collective voice representing both their people and generation simultaneously. \nFormed in 2022\, Judie Acquin\, Dylan Ward\, Mattie Comeau and Quinn Bonnell originally appeared together when they were all booked together as a Wabanaki songwriter circle. Sharing the stage\, the chemistry quickly became obvious. Not only were they all a natural fit for one another\, but their combined voices only proved to further amplify their powerful messages. In that instant\, making this a more permanent lineup was the only logical ‘next move’. \nWith The Hello Crows\, the aim is to educate audiences about their beautiful culture\, history and the positive things happening within their communities\, meanwhile honestly sharing the social obstacles in place today. Within the group\, we not only learn of the indigenous cultures\, values and traditions\, but also gain the perspectives of indigenous women and the LQBTQIA2+ communities as well\, making The Hello Crows one of the most important acts working in Canada right now. \nCelebrate the spirit of healing\, humour and fortitude with The Hello Crows and their journey of putting the modern Indigenous experience and landscape to story and song.
