DESCRIPTION:With Saltwater Songs\, Catherine MacLellan\, Rachel Beck\, and Cassie & Maggie are joining forces to present a brand new songwriters’ circle. These three East Coast acts will share the stage for a collaborative evening of entertainment\, including original folk\, pop\, and Americana\, as well as traditional fiddle tunes and step dance. \nCatherine MacLellan is a JUNO award winner\, ECMA songwriter of the year\, and has released 7 albums over the past 20 years while touring around the world. She is an acclaimed folk songwriter\, whose music often draws on traditional East Coast instrumentation: accordions\, fiddles\, and bouzouki. \nRachel Beck is an indie pop songwriter whose dreamy vocals wash over you\, as the waves lap the shores of her beloved Prince Edward Island. Her ethereal 2020 release\, “Stronger Than You Know\,” was celebrated as Music PEI’s Album of the Year and nominated for three ECMAs. It followed the soaring success of Beck’s debut single\, “Reckless Heart”\, which earned the #1 spot on the national CBC Music Top 20 Chart and was subsequently named one of the Top 100 Canadian Songs of 2018. \n2018 JUNO nominees\, Nova Scotian sisters Cassie and Maggie are putting their own 21st Century stamp on the Celtic soundtrack of this nation. Exciting and innovative\, their talent is surpassed only by the sheer joy they exude in performance.
