The much anticipated Across the Pond tour featuring Julie Aubé and Luke Jackson had been rescheduled twice since 2020 but rolled through NB this past spring (April 26-30 ) to rave reviews! Now we are thrilled to announce the UK dates are locked in and tickets are sale for the five shows coming up this fall.
This tour pairs up two solo artists presented in a double bill over five dates throughout New Brunswick (NB) and reciprocally in the United Kingdom (UK) this fall to complete the Across the Pond 2022 tour. It is presented by Music Runs Through It (NB) and Sounds Just Fine (UK), in association with Music/Musique New Brunswick and the Province of New Brunswick.
These unique shows offer Julie and Luke exposure to new audiences, and the opportunity for these audiences and communities to experience world class artists in intimate local venues. The exciting prospect of connecting musicians provides opportunities for collaboration and creative exploration that will result in one-off, memorable shows at each venue.
Hailing from Moncton, Julie Aubé is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist well-known as a member of the much-loved band Les Hay Babies. Julie felt drawn to write an album of her own and so recorded and co-produced Joie de vivre with Marc Pérusse. The result was a vintage-sounding psychedelic rock record, with lyrics firmly planted in the present day that moves everyone who listens. Her newest solo album, Contentement, is scheduled for release this September
Award-winning British singer, songwriter and guitarist, Luke Jackson, has now released five studio albums and a live recording, and tours widely throughout Europe and North America. Jackson is an accomplished performer who impresses from the outset and takes his audience on a journey with songs of love, hope, sorrow, and melancholy via the styles of folk, roots, blues, Americana and soul.
