Shivering Songs 2019! What do you need to know?

The winter getting you down? Well I’ve got just the thing for you! Shivering Songs Festival launches its ninth edition on Tuesday and the music is sure to provide a balm for any weariness you may be experiencing.  I want to ensure you are aware of all that’s being offered because you don’t want to miss anything.

First up is the United Way co-production, Songs Of The City at the Fredericton Playhouse on Tuesday night. This free event is a special evening of compelling speakers and songwriters that tells the transformative stories of everyday people whose lives have been changed because of ongoing support from United Way. The event will feature the reigning Polaris Prize winner Jeremy Dutcher, festival founders Olympic Symphonium and more. Click here to reserve your free seat:

A few things are already sold out — the weekend passes and individual tickets to Jeremy Dutcher, Erin Costelo and Garrett Mason shows — however don’t worry, there are still several exciting shows still available for your enjoyment.

Dan Mangan will be at the Boyce Farmers Market on Saturday (Jan 26) with special guest Matt Holubowski. Dan is a two-time JUNO award-winner as well as a two-time Polaris Music Prize listed musician and songwriter. Get tickets:

The Good Lovelies will be at Wilmot Church on Saturday (Jan 26) with guests The Hypochondriacs (Trio)Kerri Ough, Sue Passmore, and Caroline Brooks – immensely talented vocalists and songwriters in their own right; however, it’s their voices interwoven in harmony – powerful and pure, organic and inspiring – that elevates the Good Lovelies from impressive to peerless. The beauty of the harmonies in the rafters of the church that night will surely bring the goosebumps! Get tickets here:

Greg Keelor will be at Wilmot United Church on Thursday (Jan 24) with special guest Jennah Barry. Singer, songwriter, guitarist, and co-founding member of iconic Canadian band Blue Rodeo, Greg embarks on his 5th project as a solo artist with Last Winter. Tickets available

Songwriters & Storytellers will take place at Wilmot United Church at Saturday (Jan 26) at 2:00PM. Hosted by Andrew Sisk the afternoon will feature special guests Garrett Mason, Denmother, Catherine Kennedy & more. Tickets

Beverly Glenn Copeland will perform at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery on Saturday (Jan 26) with special guest Denmother. Copeland’s incredible story was profiled in The Guardian last November. Read it here:

There is also a full slate of free, community-focused programming including Songs of the City as well as the following (click on them to link to more details):
